Well… here goes my first reflection (and second posting). I was thinking about blogging for some times now but suddenly this class pushed me to go ahead and start at a matter of one day. The reason I was only thinking about it was because I didn’t see enough reason to start one. In fact I had negative views regarding the sites such as “my space” and “xanga” when I saw my students spending too much time on them. Also in this self-centered world where individualism is the way to go, those sites seemed to be promoting the idea of “self” as being the most important person (to the point of having an individual “website”). Yet, at the same time, I began to see a different way of using this technology (web 2.0) when I read blogs from different pastors around the world (which helped me to be up to date and infomed in many issues). I guess just like with all techonological advances, there are the good and the bad use of them (just like a good knife could be used either to hurt people or cook a facinating meal). Long story short… I began to think that my blogging could be more of a benefit for myself than to the readers (if there is any ^^). I could really reflect on my daily thought and spiritual encounters. Puting those experiences to word could greatly help me in organizing my thoughts. I hope these (the class and the idea of blogging) could be a great oppotunity in experiencing a new tool and an opportunity of learning.
I think i wrote to much for a post… i don’t know. I am still getting used to it i guess ^^
